Net Casino Sucker Wagers — Part II

[ English ]
  • Progressive side wagers: Casino games like Caribbean Stud Poker regularly offer one of these. You usually place a wager (a dollar is the usual amount) to attempt to win a side jackpot that could be upwards of $25,000. Though big jackpots like this are very appealing, they’re also very hard to win. You might have to get a Royal Flush in order to win this wager. Also, think about this- you play 20 hands and place the side bet every time. That is 20 dollars you could have used towards the real game wager in place of a sucker wager. Picture what you might have been able to win at a wager with better odds employing that $20.
  • Single number wagers in Roulette: This is especially true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has two zeroes on the wheel, as opposed to European Roulette, which has only 1. This shifts the complete casino edge from two% with a single zero wheel to a huge five% in American. The single number bet has just a one in thirty eight chance of succeeding, which are very big odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red bets alternately which have a much lower house edge.
  • Keno: Any variation of Keno, and regardless of how you play it, the house advantage can be a whopping twenty-five percent. No, that isn’t a typo. Because of the large set of numbers you have to pick, it is not recommended to bet on Keno very much. A number of times for entertainment, maybe. But do not spend all your money on it or you will immediately find yourself beaten.
