Internet Casino Sucker Bets — Part II

[ English ]
  • Progressive side wagers: Casino games such as Caribbean Stud Poker regularly have one of these. You normally place a wager (a dollar is the normal amount) to try to win a side jackpot that could be upwards of twenty-five thousand dollars. Though huge jackpots like these are extremely tempting, they’re also very difficult to succeed. You might have to get a Royal Flush in order to win this wager. Also, imagine this- you wager twenty hands and make the side bet every time. That’s 20 dollars you could have used towards the real game wager in place of a sucker bet. Imagine what you could have been able to win at a wager with better odds utilizing that twenty dollars.
  • Individual number bets in Roulette: This is particularly true for American Roulette. The reason? American Roulette has 2 0’s on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has only one. This takes the overall casino edge from 2% with a single zero wheel to a huge five% in American. The individual number wager has only a one in 38 chance of succeeding, which are very long odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red wagers instead which have a much lower house advantage.
  • Keno: Any variation of Keno, and regardless of how you bet on it, the house edge can be a huge 25%. Yes, that was not a typo. Because of the large amount of numbers you must choose, it’s not advisable to wager on Keno very much. A few times for fun, perhaps. But do not waste all your money on it or you will immediately find yourself bankrupt.
