Online Casino Sucker Wagers — Part II

  • Progressive side wagers: Casino games like Caribbean Stud Poker often offer one of these. You generally lay a wager (a dollar is the normal amount) to attempt to win a side jackpot that can reach $25,000. Though big jackpots like this are particularly alluring, they are also incredibly difficult to win. You would have to hit a Royal Flush in order to hit this wager. Also, imagine this- you play twenty hands and place the side bet every time. That’s $20 you could have used towards the actual game wager in place of a sucker wager. Just think about what you could have been able to win at a wager with greater odds using that 20 dollars.
  • Single number bets in Roulette: This is especially true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has two 0’s on the wheel, as opposed to European Roulette, which has only one. This takes the overall casino edge from 2.63% with one zero wheel to a whopping 5% in American. The one number wager has only a one in 38 chance of succeeding, which are very big odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red bets as a substitute which have a much smaller house edge.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and regardless of how you gamble on it, the house advantage can be a huge twenty-five percent. No, that isn’t a error. Due to the huge amount of numbers you have to pick, it is not advisable to bet on Keno to often. A few times for entertainment, perhaps. But do not waste all your money on it or you will immediately discover yourself bankrupt.
