Net Casino Sucker Bets — Part 2

  • Progressive side bets: Casino games such as Caribbean Stud Poker regularly have one of these. You generally put a bet ($1 is the usual value) to attempt to win a bonus jackpot that could reach $25,000. Though huge jackpots like these are extremely alluring, they’re also incredibly complicated to succeed. You would need to get a Royal Flush in order to succeed on this bet. Also, picture this- you play 20 hands and make the side wager every time. That’s $20 you could have used towards the real game bet instead of a sucker bet. Imagine what you could have been able to win at a bet with more favorable odds employing that 20 dollars.
  • Individual number wagers in Roulette: This is particularly true for American Roulette. The reason? American Roulette has two zeroes on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has just 1. This shifts the overall casino edge from two% with a single zero wheel to a whopping 5.26% in American. The single number bet has only a one in thirty eight chance of winning, which are very long odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red wagers instead which have a much smaller casino edge.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and anyway you play it, the house edge can be a whopping twenty-five percent. Yes, that is not a typo. Because of the large amount of numbers you must select, it isn’t recommended to play Keno to often. A few times for entertainment, perhaps. But do not spend all your money on it or you’ll quickly discover yourself broke.
